Tanakalab is a Social Innovation Lab focused on designing creative and innovative educational programs and tools focused on rural development, female empowerment and raising awareness of global inequalities.
EMPATHY
Diversity is part of our day-to-day, thus sharp active listening and sensitivity when researching and working as a team with partners from other cultures, is crucial for us. We have to understand that the same project in each place has a different need.
INNOVATION
Our way of working, and thinking, is based on a human-centred model applying creative methods all along the process. This way, allows us to go straight ahead to the solution while optimising resources to design projects of easy adaptation and scalability.
ADAPTABILITY
We are living a constant change times, so that, we have a lifelong learning profile and mindset. Being flexible by keeping solidity in the way we approach projects is vital to our day-to-day.

MISSION
EDUCATION FOR GLOBAL CHANGE
Our goal is to design tools that instil values that found the basis of responsible global citizens committed to global issues in favour of peace, human rights and sustainable development. At TanakaLab, we have found the perfect engagement tool in gamification to explain complex scenarios to very wide audiences.
RURAL FEMALE
DEVELOPMENT
Women constitute 43% of the agricultural workforce in the rural world. However, due to poor education, there is a significant gap, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, in pay, financial services and decision-making power. Our mission in this field is to research women’s collectives worldwide to improve their careers.
NORTH-SOUTH AXIS
APPROACH
One of our main purposes is to create experiences to provoke cultural and knowledge exchange between people with unequal privileges. Our goal with this is to raise awareness and make people understand diversity authentically and naturally, instilling the true complexity that the global difference in which we live entails.
